Problems associated with periodontal disease - An estimated 80 percent of North American adults currently experience some form of periodontal disease. Chances are, if you're an adult, you have early signs of a gum problem.
From simple gum inflammation to more serious disease and damage to the soft tissue and bone that supports the teeth, periodontal diseases come in variety of forms. In the worst cases, teeth can be lost.

What are the signs of gum disease?
Here are some of the telltale signs of a gum problem. Keep in mind, if you recognize or experience any of these, call Dr. Dayan immediately:
- bleeding gums
- red, swollen or tender gums
- gums that have pulled away from the teeth
- bad breath
- pus between your teeth and gums
- loose teeth
- misaligned teeth and bite
- sensitivity to hot or cold
