Dear Ellen, I never thought I'd be publicly singing the praises of a dentist, but then again you are far from being a typical dentist. Your whole approach to dentistry is radically different: you took the time to get to know me (not just my teeth) and you listened to my concerns and answered my many questions. You then gave me the most thorough mouth exam I've ever received, and you took great care to ensure I was informed and relaxed every step of the way. At my follow-up appointment, you presented me with a very informative binder containing photos and information about my teeth's past, present, and future. For the first time in my life I have a clear sense of what my dental care options are. Whereas other dentists I have known delegate so-called ‘routine' tasks like cleaning and polishing to a dental assistant and only spend a few minutes with me, you perform these procedures yourself.
